Inspiration can be elusive sometimes, especially when deadlines are looming and your e-Learning course just isn’t taking shape. So where’s a resourceful e-Learning developer to turn for an instant inspiration boost? Pinterest!
Pinterest is a great source of visual and design inspiration that can help you add some eye candy to your e-Learning courses. In addition, you can find pins linking to great references such as e-Learning infographics, eBooks and articles. Think of it as a digital bulletin board or scrapbook. “Pinning” something is like bookmarking a website but in a much more visual way.
Since its inception in 2010, Pinterest has rapidly become a source of creative inspiration for women and men interested in many different topics, from crafts and DIY home improvement to graphic design and e-Learning.
You can search through Pinterest and find ideas in a few different ways. One way is to use the search bar and type in terms like “e-Learning” or “iPad e-Learning” or “e-Learning tips.” Then, browse the results. You can sort results by Pins, Boards or Pinners.
In addition, you can follow your favorite e-Learning developers on Pinterest. Following a Pinner, or a specific Board, allows those pins to appear in your home feed. When you visit someone’s profile on Pinterest, you can choose to follow all of that person’s boards or select boards that interest you.
This is a great way to keep up-to-date with what’s going on in e-Learning and check out what your peers think is relevant or important when designing e-Learning.
Some inspiring, idea-packed boards to follow are:

Find something you like? Pin it! You can pin an item in a few different ways. When you’re browsing your feed or someone’s board, you can hover over a thumbnail and a Pin it button will appear.
Or you can click on a thumbnail to get a better look and Pin it from there.
In addition, you can add a Pin it button to your browser window, so you can pin an item from any website! This is great for when you’re browsing industry blogs and come across a tutorial that you’d love to save for future reference.
You can find endless inspiration when browsing Pinterest! Now get out there and start pinning ideas for your next e-Learning course! And don’t forget to follow Lectora on Pinterest!
