This year’s conference sessions will be held at the Music City Center. Located in the heart of downtown Nashville, the Music City Center is just steps away from wonderful hotels, gourmet restaurants and of course, incredible live music.

Need ideas to fill your downtime after a day of eye-opening e-Learning sessions? We have a few:

  • Take a tour of Music Row and visit historic RCA Studio B, the famous recording studio where Elvis recorded over 200 songs.
  • Explore the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's ever-changing exhibits featuring the legends of country music past and today's hottest stars. Or check out the Johnny Cash Museum!
  • Get in touch with American history. Three U.S. Presidents called Tennessee home: Andrew Jackson, James K. Polk and Andrew Johnson. You can revisit the past at Andrew Jackson's Hermitage: Home of the People's President.
  • Try "hot chicken," the food that Lonely Planet calls “Nashville’s unique contribution to the culinary universe.” Available in mild, medium, hot and extra hot, this cayenne-rubbed fried chicken is served on a piece of white bread with a side of pickles.

Every year, we seek out knowledgeable and inspirational speakers to share their words with you at the Lectora® User Conference. This year is no exception. Learn more about each amazing speaker now:

Donald H Taylor – Opening Keynote

Donald H Taylor is a 25-year veteran of the learning, skills and human capital industries, with experience at every level from design and delivery to chairman of the board. He has been chairman of the Learning and Performance Institute since 2010.

A recognized commentator and organizer in the fields of workplace learning and learning technologies, Donald is passionately committed to helping develop the learning and development profession.

His background ranges from training delivery to director and vice-president positions in software companies. Donald has been a company director and shareholder for three companies through start up, growth and acquisition.

He is an influential writer and speaker in the fields of the professional development of L&D and of technology-supported learning. He was the 2007 recipient of the Colin Corder award for services to training and has chaired the Learning Technologies Conference since 2000. He also chairs the Learning and Skills Group, hosting its bi-weekly webinar program and edits Inside Learning Technologies Magazine. He is a graduate of Oxford University.


Shelly Sanchez Terrell - Day 2 Opening Keynote

Shelly Sanchez Terrell is the author of The 30 Goals Challenge for Teachers: Small Steps to Transform Your Teaching, Learning to Go: Lesson Ideas for Teaching with Mobile Devices, Cell Phones and BYOT (Bring Your Own Technology). She supports and instructs thousands of teachers and students worldwide through the online and face-to-face learning events she organizes and moderates, including the award-winning #Edchat movement, #ELTChat, the Reform Symposium Global E-Conference, The 30 Goals Challenge for Educators and the Crafting an E-Textbook Massive Open Online Course.

Recently, she was named Woman of the Year 2014 by the National Association of Professional Women, awarded a Bammy Award for #Edchat and recognized by Edtech Magazine as one of the Top 50 Edtech Bloggers. She has been honored by organizations such as the ELTon Awards, The New York Times and Microsoft’s Heroes for Education as a leader, innovator and visionary in the movement of teacher driven professional development and education technology.

Shelly has an Honors BA in English with a Minor in Communication and a specialization in Electronic Media from UTSA, a Masters in Curriculum Instruction ESL from the University of Phoenix and a CELTA from CELT Athens. Her charity, ETHOS, received the SAMMS Ministries 2001 Volunteer Group of the Year award for the creation of a spoken word and music program for homeless children.


Ross Dawson – Closing Keynote

Ross Dawson is globally recognized as a leading futurist, keynote speaker, entrepreneur and authority on business strategy. He is Founding Chairman of four companies: international consulting and ventures firm Advanced Human Technologies, futures think-tank Future Exploration Network, leading events firm The Insight Exchange and online start-up Repyoot.

Strong demand for Ross’s expertise has seen him deliver keynote speeches across six continents and consult to leading organizations worldwide such as Ernst & Young, Macquarie Bank, Microsoft, News Corporation, Procter & Gamble and many others.

He is author of the bestseller Developing Knowledge-Based Client Relationships, now out in its second edition, and the acclaimed book Living Networks, which foresaw the social networking revolution. He also writes the highly influential Trends in the Living Networks blog, has written white papers for organizations including SAP and Microsoft and has published over 100 articles in leading publications worldwide.

Ross’s frequent media appearances include CNN, Bloomberg TV, SkyNews, ABC TV, Today and Sunrise shows, New York Times, The Guardian and many others.

Ross has run executive education programs and lectured at numerous top-tier academic institutions around the world, including Australian Graduate School of Management, Institute of Banking & Finance and the University of Virginia.

Previously Ross worked in senior positions in London, Tokyo and Sydney with organizations including Merrill Lynch, NCR and most recently Thomson Financial as Global Director – Capital Markets. He holds a B.Sc (Hons) from Bristol University and a graduate diploma in Applied Finance from Macquarie University and is certified as a Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). He has extensive international business experience and speaks five languages.
